NJN Reports on Kean Restructuring

  1. It's funny how Vice-President of Academic Affairs Mark Lender talks as if this whole "academic re-organization" will benefit faculty and students. How are we going to save according to Dr. Lender, "1.9 million dollars" if executive directors will be getting paid more than chairpersons. If Im correct that is what Dr. Castiglione talked about for a quick second. That is actually true.

A chairperson's average salary runs around 90,000$ but an executive director's average salary runs around 120,000$. So why is Farahi continuing this "re-structuring"?

  2. This is true. One of the new Executive Directors actually makes over $190,000 a year.

Kean has only just begun the process of creating and hiring for these positions, but we're looking at 18 new Directors once the restructuring is complete, and that average of $120,000 per Director could easily change as more jobs are filled.
