These are the type of things that occur when an incompetent administration is at the helm. A public institution should serve its students not a tiny group of "administrators". It is a shame that students are paying 705$ to pay off "big brother's" debt without even knowing it. But more and more students are becoming aware (conscious) of the illegitimate actions being taken by the administration generally and Farahi specifically.
This is not the only problem at the Kean institution. There are many other things that expose the predatory nature of the administration. Hopefully somewhere in near future my beloved Kean will one day be an institution that genuinely serves its students and not an institution that uses its students to pay off the debts of "big brother". (Farahi)
in the past the tuiation we payed was going up by an even faster rate. this year it was only 4% you guys just hate the school and want to through it into anarky god have shame apon all who follow you.
I can assure you that TBK is not interested in creating Anarchy at Kean. Our purpose is to educate the student body, not to damage it.
Our Tuition may be 'capped' at 4% increases each year, but did you look at the breakdown of fees included with tuition? Actual Tuition only includes %3,205.50 out of nearly $5,000. The other fees, such as the one for 'Capital Debt Service,' 'General Service,' 'Athletic/Recreation' and the 'University Center Fee' have never been constrained to a certain percentage of increase.
It is theoretically possible for the Administration to claim to decrease Tuition and yet make Students pay more using these included fees. I do not know if this has ever happened, but I do know that there is a loophole in the way Tuition cap works.
TBK plans to file an OPRA request in order to see how these fees have changed since 1990. Perhaps that information might be of interest to you.
